Feb 21, 2018 | Birthday Cards, general
I had so much fun making yet another Explosion Box card for my friend Vicki’s special birthday. I used her favourite colours; Teale and Elegant Egplant and a Very Vanilla box. I used the Number of Years stamp set with the Large Numbers Framelits and the Bloomin’ Love stamp set for the hearts and swirls. The large birthday greeting is from a retired hostess set. The butterflies were cut using the Butterfly Thinlits.

The box is 4″ X 4″ X 4″ Here is another view of it closed.

And the big surprise when it is open. The interior butterfly sat on top of a tiered cake-like structure.

Needless to say, she loved the card and I was very pleased with it myself. Again, I have relied on Angela Lorenz and Jacinta Argent for ideas.
I hope you like the card. If you do, I’d love to hear from you. Likewise, I would be happy to answer any queries you might have. If you click on the comments button below the heading, you will be able to comment.

Feb 2, 2018 | Amazing You stamp set, Birthday Cards |
Below is a card my trusty sidekick recently made (Hi Vicki!) to help me prepare some sample cards for my Open House event to launch the Occasions Catalogue and the Sale-A-Bration promotion. The card features the Amazing You stamp set which is only available during Sale-A-Bration and is FREE when you buy $90 worth of Stampin’ Up! product.
Vicki used a Peek-a-boo Peach card base which has an oval window cut with the Oval Framelit Dies and encloses a piece of textured Vellum Cardstock. The card base was stamped using the “sun” image from the set and Peek-a-boo Peach ink. The flowers were stamped in Archival Grey Ink, coloured using Peek-a-boo Peach ink, cut by hand and layered using dimensionals. They were finished off with a punched circle of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper raised on dimensionals.
The Happy Birthday is in Lemon Lime Twist card, cut using the Happy Birthday framelit, the same colour used for the leaves which were punched using the Bird Builder punch (no longer available).

I hope you like this card. Let me know what you think. I’d love to hear from you. Happy to reply to any questions you might have about this card. Enjoy your weekend!
