On Stage Local

I  have been spending a lot of my spare time recently getting ready for On Stage Local in Sydney on 7 April.  On stage is a Stampin’ Up! event for Demonstrators held in a number of different places around the world on the same date.  This one is special because it is the 30 year anniversary of Stampin’ Up!

The day is full of fun.  Meeting other Demonstrators, make n takes, door prizes, give aways, training for techniques and business and lots, lots more.  And we get to see previews of new products in the pipeline.  One of the things Demonstrators can do is prepare swaps. Swaps are multiple copies of a card or 3D item which  we make to swap for the ones other Demonstrators have made.  That way we get lots of new ideas from each other and we get samples to show customers using Stamp Sets and other products that we don’t personally own.  We also get to meet other demonstrators from far flung places.

Here is one of my swaps.  I like to make a few because I get bored making too many copies of the same project.

I love the Bird Banter stamp set in the Occasions Catalogue.  It has lots of cute birds and corny sayings.  I fussy cut the bird and the party hat and the balloon and used Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White and Bermuda Bay.

I cut the circles with the Layering Circles Dies and added some texture with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder.

I hope you like it.  If you have any comments or questions, I’d love to hear from you. And if you live in Australia, I would love to be your Demonstrator.

Gift Vouchers

I made this Gift Voucher Wallet a little while ago after a friend’s daughter asked me to do a voucher “for no particular reason”.  I thought this was so lovely and I surprised the friend with it when she attended one of my classes.

I used the Envelope Punch Board, the Delightful Daisy Stamp set and the Daisy punch. I used smaller circle puches to adapt the daisy to look like a gerbera.  The card is Tranquil Tide, one of my current favourites and I combined it with designer paper from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack.  Oh, yes, and you can just see the glorious texture from the Ruffled 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, and some retired washi tape.

The wallet has a special mechanism which pops out with the enclosed voucher.  I made it using a tutorial I found on the web but I can’t recall where.  If this is your tutorial, please let me know and I will give you due credit.

I can do up gift vouchers for any occasion or amount.  So drop the hint to your family and friends about what you would REALLY like for that special occasion.  Mother’s Day is just around the corner! Call or send me an email to let me know what you require.

Market Stall

I had my first stall at local markets yesterday.  It was the Tuggeranong  Lions Community markets and although I did lots of preparation, there was very little traffic, so not much success.  But I had fun preparing these boards.  The first was about Stampin’ Up! in general.  Information about Ordering, Hosting, Joining, the Occasions Catalogue and Sale-A-Bration.

My next Board was about some of the great products in the Occasions Catalogue. I showcased the Myths and Magic Suite and the Lovely Wishes stamp set.  I shamelessly copied the samples shown here so if they are yours let me know and I will give you credit.

My third and last Board was about kits. I featured the Soft Sayings Card Kit. Such lovely cards! And so easy to put together with this all-inclusive kit.  I included some alternate ways of using the kit contents.

The ideas for these boards was from a Demonstrator in the UK called Natalie Rothwell O’Shea who generously shared her ideas for market stalls in a private Demonstrators facebbok group. Thanks Natalie.

I had help from some Stampin’ Up! sisters on the stall. My buddy Vicki kept me company all day. We had a prize draw gift on show and lots of samples of various projects, as well as some cards from my stash for sale.

Frances joined us for the second half and brought along a kit of her own to display, along with some completed cards and the Box. The Perennial Birthday Project Kit is absolutely beautiful and contains supplies for 16 cards and a gorgeous box to store them in. Unfortunately, I didn’t capture it in a pic.  Thanks Frances.

So I plan on giving the markets another go in May so lets hope more people come along. This is a long weekend in Canberra for Canberra Day so perhaps that explains the low numbers!

Till next time
