Fancy Fold Cards

In my April card class we will be making fun cards with fancy folds. This one is a Secret Message Panel Card.

Secret Message Birthday Card1 Stampin' Up! Annette McMillan 19032018

I used the fantastic Happy Birthday thinlit die and some retired designer paper, Melon Mambo , Crushed Curry and Basic Black cardstock to make this gatefold card.

When you open the card this is what you see:

Then you *peel* open the centre fold to show…..tadah!!  Another view which reveals the hidden messages.

Dont you think this is so cool?  And what’s more, it is not difficult to make.I used what has become one of my favourite greeting sets, Happy Birthday Gorgeous and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I think this card would suit anyone, young or young-at-heart.  What do you think?

Nearly Time for On Stage Local

I’m getting excited now.  On Stage is on in Sydney tomorrow at Luna Park.  My bag is packed and I’m ready to go!  An early start at 7.30!  I thought I would share my other swaps with you. Both use stamp sets which are in the current Occasions Catalogue, so are available until the end of May.

I thought this card was a little different than most I have seen using this lovely set.  I quite like the bolder colours which, I think, give the card an Asian feel, and makes it appropriate for many occasions, such as Anniversary, Mother’s Day or Thank You.  This is quite a simple card to make and would be a good make n take for a workshop.  I used Real Red, Whisper White and Basic Black as well as as Black and White Baker’s Twine. I hope you like it.  If you have any comments or questions, I’d love to hear from you.

HappyRetirementCardStampinUpAnnetteMcMillan13032018My final swap card is using a stamp set called Waterfront.  The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Sentiment set in the Annual Catalogue.  I have also used the Seaside Textured Embossing Folder and the Stitched Shapes Framelits .  Colours are Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Whisper White Dapper Denim and Lemon Lime Twist.

The waterfront set is amazing.  It is like building a scene using the stamps in different ways.  You will find lots of different cards out in cyberspace using this versatile set.  I thought the scene perfectly represented the free days of retirement. It could also be used as a Bon Voyage card.

Again, this is a simple card and I hope you like it.
