Thanks for joining me this afternoon. I have another fancy fold card to share with you today. It is a couple of months from my 30th wedding anniversary. My team had a get together last weekend and I led a project, showing them how to make an arrow card. This fold is easier to make than it looks. We had lots of fun, as we always do. I forgot to photograph their creations.
I decided to make the card for my husband for our anniversary. Unfortunately, I made it from almost entirely retired product, so even though I think it is lovely, these products are no longer available. However, there are plenty of gorgeous products available at the moment, just take a look at the catalogues in the righthand side bar.
The above pic shows how the card looks flat. I used 2018 SaleABration Designer Paper, 2018 gold & copper washi tape, Large Number Thinlit Dies and the coordinating Number of Years stamp set (all retired). The greetings were gold embossed and the numbers were cut from Gold Glimmer Paper. The pic below shows how it looks when standing.
I think the second pic gives a much better view of the card. I hope hubby likes it. And I hope you like it too. I’d love to hear what you think.

In my last post I showed you a very fancy explosion box card I had made for a friend’s husband.
I received a request for instructions to make the card. Click herefora link to a Pinterest pin of a template created by Angela Lorenz who was a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in Sydney and I would call the Queen of Explosion Boxes.
Angela has provided dimensions for the box, the lid and the layers, and you will find many examples of her beautiful explosion boxes on her page.
The main tip I would give is not to stamp anything too high on the outer image panels, because it may be covered by the lid. Ask me how I know this? 🙂
Welcome back to my blog. I have something a little special to share with you today. A friend’s husband turns 80 next weekend and I wanted to make an explosion box card for him.
When the Classic Garage Suite appeared in the 2019 Occasions Catalogue, I knew that I would be using the stamps and dies for his card as he is an avid car buff.
This is how the card/box looks unopened. As well as the Geared Up Garage stamp set, I have used greetings from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous set and the retired Perfect Pairings set.
I used four colours for the car after researching the original colours of the car. Above is the Mango Melody and below is the Granny Green Apple. The car on the lid is Poppy Parade. I used other elements in the Stamp Set and coordinating Die Set on alternate panels.
This is how the card looks when it is opened. Another Poppy Parade Car and a Pineapple Punch one. I also added an 80 cut from Gold Glimmer Paper using the (sadly) retired Large Numbers Framelits Die Set.

This card is so pretty. The Lacy Dynamic Embossing Folder creates texture that is beautiful just on its own.
Colours are Sahara Sand, Petal Pink and Garden Green. Again, this was a joint card between Vicki and myself. I love the ribbon from the Occasions Catalogue. It is soft like seam binding. Vicki pounced on the flowers with some Powder Pink ink on a sponge and I tied the bow from Linen Thread. Vicki then added the pearls.
This card came together by itself really. I wanted to colour the image from the Lovely Lattice Stamp Set after it had been white embossed on Crumb Cake Cardstock. I was thinking of a technique where you colour white then add colour.
Then I saw a beautiful card by Emma Goddard, a British member of the 2018 Artisan Design Team. She white-embossed images from the All That You Are Stamp Set on Sahara Sand Card and coloured them with watercolour pencils. The result was vivid and beautiful. I have shared it on my business Facebook page with a link to her blog. There is a link to my page at the bottom of the sidebar at the right.
The colours I used are Balmy Blue, Gorgeous Grape and Rich Razzleberry. Flowers were stamped and coloured on a scrap, then fussy cut and 3D’d on another panel of Crumb Cake which had been stamped and white embossed with the same image. I added a White Glossy card mat to tie in with the Embossing and a few pearls and decided not to add a greeting.
I was really happy with how the card turned out. I’d love to know what you think.
