Paper Crafting Blog Hop – August 2024 – Male Cards

PaperCraftingBlogHopBadge

Welcome to this month’s Paper Crafting Blog Hop featuring the theme Male Cards.  I am excited to share another project with you today.  Fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the globe are participating, so we have lots of fun projects to share with you. I hope you get loads of creative inspiration from them. You may have started here, or arrived from the talented Shirley Merker’s blog.  Wasn’t her project amazing? Either way, you’re in the right place!

I chose to use The Under the Moon Stamp Set. I was intrigued by its possible uses when it appeared in the 2024-25 catalogue and I continue to look for opportunities to use it. I tried to capture the Wink of Stella on the water, without success, but, trust me, it’s very shimmery!

Let’s Craft Together Blog Hop – August – Mystery Challenge

Welcome to this month’s Blog Hop by Let’s Craft Together and thank you for joining us. We are a group of multi-cultural Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators in Australia who have developed a strong friendship though our love of stamping and our admiration of each other’s style of crafting.

Each month one of us sets a challenge that we use for the blog hop. This month’s challenge is a Mystery Challenge which was created by Tracy Held and is shown below:

Although the Layering Leaves Stamp Set and the Bough Punch have been around a while, I only recently purchased them and I wanted to use them, as well as the new Leaf Collection Background stamp. I found a technique for using the Leaf Collection stamp on Heather Forgen’s website here and I just had to give it a try. I used Blending Brushes to apply colour to the a Very Vanilla card front, then spritzed the stamp with water and used it to stamp on the card front over the colours. The colours bleed as the ink dries and creates what I think is a lovely effect. For my strips, I cut the three strips of Very Vanilla and adhered them to the Pecan Pie cardbase. I cut the nesting pieces of card from Pecan Pie and Very Vanilla and stamped and heat embossed the greeting.

The boughs were also heat embossed in gold and overstamped with colour then punched out.

Here is a close shot:
