Let’s Craft Together Blog Hop – May 2026 – Background Techniques

Welcome to this month’s Blog Hop by Let’s Craft Together and thank you for joining us. We are a group of multi-cultural Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators in Australia who have developed a strong friendship though our love of stamping and our admiration of each other’s style of crafting.
Each month one of us sets a challenge that we use for the blog hop. This month’s challenge is Background Techniques, which was created by Sharni and is shown below:

I decided to use a background technique where you place small amounts of ink refill inks onto a piece of pre-wet white card, move it around with a water painter, let it blend a bit, then dry it with your heat tool. I like these messy kind of techniques. I wanted the greens to blend a little, then I Stamped and white embossed the images from the Lily of the Valley stamp Set. Finally, I ran the Wink of Stella Brush over the floral Image. It is beautifully shimmery, but of course you can’t see it in the photos.
