2019 Onstage Sydney

I traveled to Sydney by car the day before Onstage with 3 Stampin’ Up! buddies. Can’t believe that was 2 weeks ago. I finally got to photographing the loads of treasure I brought back with me. It might take me more than one post to cover it all!

I thought I had shared my swaps here but as I haven’t, that is what I will share with you first up.

EverythingAmazingCardStampinUpAnnetteMcMillan20112019

Supplies used:

Stamp Set: – Everything Amazing

Card: – Blueberry Bushell, Whisper White, Lovely Lipstick

Ink : – Blueberry Bushell , Lovely Lipstick

Tools: – Balloon punch, aquapen, Chalk pen

Accessories: – Night of Navy Twine (retired)

I wanted to use some DSP in the background but didn’t have any with the colours I wanted to use, so I made some by painting the 2 colours on with an aquapen, lifting the ink from the lid of the inkpads. I was pretty happy with the results. I’d love to know what you think.

Next up is a swap I did with the Geared Up Garage Stamp set and Dies.

Supplies used:

Stamp Set: – Geared Up Garage

Card: – Real Red, Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Basic Gray, Mango Melody, Shaded Spruce, Soft Suede

Ink : – Real Red, Smoky Slate

Tools: – Garage Gears Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Tailored Tag punch

Accessories: – Stampin’ Dimensionals

The Gear Die for this is one big die so I cut several in each colour then cut them up and swapped out the colours.  I don’t think I realised what I had set myself up for but the task was aided by the use of press n seal to keep the bits organised while I put the glue on the back.

Next up is my personal fave, using Butterfly Wishes

ButterfyWishesCardStampinUpAnnetteMcMillan_0112019

Ink : – Blackberry Bliss, Smoky Slate

Tools: – Stitched Nested Labels, Subtle 3D Embossing Folder

Accessories: – Basic Pearls, Stampin’ Dimensionals

So, that’s is for swaps, now I’ll show you the bag we were given on arrival.

Don’t you just love it? These vibrant colours were everywhere in the function room, creating a real WOW effect.

Inside the bag was a stamp set from the January-June 2020 Mini Catalogue called Timeless Tulips, pens, notepad and a lanyard and some cute little charms (of course I can’t find these now). Soon after the proceedings began, we were given our copies of the Mini Catalogue and the 2020 Sale-A-Bration Catalogue. WOW, are you gonna love these.

Three of the four make and take projects are shown above, as well as the Painted Poppies stamp set (which I got to take home) and the Lovely Lilipad stamp set which was my door prize. It is one of the free products which will be on offer during Sale-A-Bration from 3 January 2020, which is also the date when the Mini Catalogue goes live.

The top project used stamp set from the mini catalogue, Forever Blossoms. The one on left used Timeless Tulips, and the other, the Painted Poppies set.

The other make and take project used a stamp set from the 2020 Mini Catalogue, Dressed to Impress, as well as the gorgeous Best Dressed 3″ X 3″ Printed Notecards which also debut in the Mini.

Now I’ll show you the swaps I received at Onstage

2019OnstageSwapsStampinUpAnnetteMcMillan30112019

Christmastimeishere products were used for these projects, the card by Sandra Mastelo, the card by Trish Coote , and the sticky note holder by Karen Gilbertson. The little wallet by Denise Spencer uses products from the Holiday catalogue and the lovely Christmastimeishere gold ribbon.

I love all these projects which feature Holiday Catalogue products, especially the ice skates card by Bridget Jeffcoat, which also uses the beautiful Silver foil-edged cards and Envelopes from the Annual Catalogue. I ate the candy which was on our table. It was provided by Kathryn Ruddick for her team members. We sat with some of them and they shared.

The So Many Stars Bundle and the Wrapped in Plaid DSP are great products from the Holiday catalogue.

These swaps all appealed to me because they used black and bright colours. I love the silhouette cards. The top two used the Friendly Silhouettes Dies which I hadn’t noticed in the catalogue before but aren’t they beautiful? And the circle of Mercury Glass Designer Acetate (Holiday mini) really sets off the skyscape card.

The cat caught my eye straight away! How cute! All lovely cards, but again I am struck by the unicorn card by Bridget Jeffcote. That must be why I swapped with her more than once. Pauline Bennetts also made clever use of the On to Adventure stamps. Tracey Ross had a great idea to promote organ donation, using the Modern Heart stamp.

I love the technique card by the talented Cheryl Miller and Kayla Macaulay told me her small son (6yrs?) made these Daisy card swaps. Clever kid!

I also got an amazing selection of 3D swaps. I haven’t ripped them open to get to the chocolate (yet)!

Well, that’s all my swaps, but I have more to share.

Last weekend, I went to a get together for my downline group, the Avid Inkers. One of them had asked me how to make a Card in a Box. So I led a session showing how to make these, and here are the results.

I made this card using the Painted Poppy stamp set along with the retired Number of Years Stamp Set and Dies, and other retired Dies. The card is for my mother-in-law who turns 90 next year, so I thought that was an appropriate occasion for this special card. Fortunately she doesn’t have a computer or smart device so is unlikely to see this. The colours are Basic Black, Poppy Parade and Old Olive.

I made another Card-in-a-Box for a friend who was turning 80 last week, using the Daisy Lane Bundle and retired DSP, greeting stamps and dies.

I used Night of Navy,  Granny Apple Green and Mango Melody. I hope she liked it.  Here’s pic of the card closed.  It fits into a normal size envelope.
