Virtual Launch of 2020-21 Catalogue

Welcome to my blog. I have been a little lax in posting since the beginning of June, but we were able to go interstate as of 1 June, so we had a few days at the coast. I have lots to share with you today, so get a cuppa and enjoy your Sunday, or what’s left of it!

Earlier in June, I held my first event since the new Annual Catalogue went live. The event was online and was a combined launch/card class. I used some of the newest In-Colors, These are on-trend colours that are released each year and are available for 2 years. The first card I’d like to show you is a “Scrappy Strip card” using these new In-Colors. Scrappy Strip cards are a new trend taking the cardmaking world by storm and are also a great way of using up some of your scraps. Although mine are all landscape, you can also do them portrait, or for just one panel on a card.

I used all of the 2020-22 In Colors:  Misty Moonlight, Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade, Magenta Madness and  Bumble Bee.  Here, I have matted them onto a black mat, then a Just Jade Card Base. The Greeting is from the  Peaceful Moments Stamp Set and is white embossed on a black label cut with the Painted Poppies Dies. Polished off with a glitter dot, I was happy with the outcome.  I think this card is very cheerful and suited to kids or blokes.

I made the next card to show my customers that you can use this technique with textured strips as well. I purchased the World of Good SDSP for this class, so I used the colours in this DSP. The greeting is from the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set, and there’s another glitter dot. I thought this collection of colours was gorgeous for the blokes in our lives. I think the colour of my fallen grape leaf is also magnificent. What do you think?

This technique is really addictive. The card below is made with strips of the World of Good SDSP and coordinating coloured card stock. The greeting is from the Geared Up Garage Stamp set and for the label, I used the Garage Gears Dies and the yummy new Brass Foil which features in this paper.

Below is a better look at the beautiful Brass features in the World of Good SDSP. This card layout is one of the versatile ones from the Double Wonder layouts.

The label is cut with one of the Stitched Nested Labels. The ribbon is also a lovely new item from the World of Good Suite. It is the Early Espresso Faux Suede Trim. It’s a ribbon you just have to feel! The greeting stamp and punch used on the label are both now retired so are no longer available, but they suited my card.

Here is another card I made for the launch. Because it was a virtual event, and I delivered class kits to my customers beforehand, I focused on using flexible card layouts, Embossing Folders, Designer Series Paper and Diecuts. This is a helpful strategy when doing online events where not everyone has access to particular stamps.

I found this layout somewhere in blogland and found that it is amazingly versatile. One of my customers who took part in the class has since made several, using all sorts of materials, and they all look great. I have used a number of products that have now retired but the Layering Circle Dies are still available.

The final card I have to share today is the same layout, but using the World of Good paper and coordinating cardstock, with a little of the Faux Suede Ribbon and a few little dots of the Brass Foil.
