Christmas Cards

Welcome back to my blog. I wanted to share some Christmas cards I received at our Avid Inkers Christmas get together.

CherishTheSeasonCardStampinUpAnnetteMcMillan10122020

This was a swap card from Frances who used Cherish the Season Bundle with the Greenery Embossing Folder and Gold Foil for the bells. She has coloured the embossing on the foil. Isn’t it stunning? The Cherish the Season Stamp Set is reduced by 10% during the Year End Closeout sale.

Karen created a gorgeous triple fold swap card using the Gnome for the Holidays Stamp set. This stamp set retires at the end of December. It is discounted by 20% during the current Year End Close Out Sale. How cute is it?

My swap card was made using the Quite Curvy Bundle of products. These stamps and dies will be available in the 2021 January-June Mini Catalogue and are available as an advance offering as part of the Curvy Celebration promotion which runs to 4 January. The promotion bundle includes the limited release bundle of Curvy Christmas Stamp set and Classic Christmas DSP which I used in my November blog hop.

My card also uses the Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder and the card is Rococo Rose.

During our get together, we also exchanged some Chistmas cards.

I forgot to photograph mine, but these were from Anne (left) and Karen, who both used the gorgeous Brightly Gleaming DSP (discounted by 50% during the current Year End Closeout Sale), and Vicki who used the Cardinal stamps. Frances used the Joy to the World Paper Pumpkin Kit which is available this month. Handmade Christmas cards are such a joy to receive.

Avid Inkers Team Christmas Get Together

Last weekend we had the first Avid Inkers get together for ages. We met at Goulburn for the afternoon as the event was hosted by my Stampin’ Up! niece Beck.

We had a secret Santa, swaps, a couple of projects and yummy festive treats. I love spending time with other SU Demonstrators and especially these particular ones. My two SU sisters and I have been meeting under our own steam for many years. We have been Demonstrators for 14 years now and our upline retired after about 2 years, so we’ve been “doin’ it for ourselves” since then.

Others’ projects, from top right, used Painted Poppies Stamp set, Peaceful Poppies DSP (both J-J Mini Catalogue), Fairy Celebration Stamp Set (ret), another image from the Beautiful Moments Stamp Set, another Fairy Celebration Stamp Set and lastly, an image from the FREE 2020 Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set Happy Birthday to You, available now with a $90 AUS order.

Avid Inkers Get Together

NewWondersGiftWalletStampinUpAnnetteMcMillan29022020.jpg

Last weekend I went to a get together for the Avid Inkers Group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators in Canberra. This group has been meeting in various forms since 2006. We are now without a leader and have been for quite some years. However, we always have fun when we get together. There were six of us on Sunday, some were SU-Sisters and some were SU-Daughters. We all support each other and enjoy our time crafting together and learning from each other.

Above is a project I designed for the group to create. This is a hostess stamp set from the 2019-20 Annual Catalogue, called New Wonders. I love the way it looks like the fairy is turning the page. The image is on the wallet and the tag above slides into it. The tag has a little pocket in it where you can see I have placed a $5 note (because it colour coordinates, why else?). The size could be modified for a card or voucher but I thought this was a great size for money (or an IOU), which is often a convenient gift from parents and grandparents. A little wallet like this dresses up such a gift .

NewwondersWalletStampinUpAnnetteMcMillan03032020.jpg

Above is a pic of all of our creations. You can see that we all put our own spin on it.

Card: – Rococco Rose, Whisper White, 2019-2020 In-Color Designer Series Paper

Ink : – Memento Tuxedo Black, Rococco Rose, Seaside Spray, Terracotta Tile

Tools: – aquapen, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch

Embellishments: – Basic Rhinestones, White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, White Bakers Twine

I hope you like my project. I would love to hear what you think.
