Earlier this month I held an open house event in my home to launch the Stampin’ Up! January – June (J J) Mini Catalogue and the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. I prepared lots of samples using some of the new products and we had Make N Takes, Prizes, Nibbles, Bubbles and everyone got to take home a copy of the Mini Catalogue and the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.
We had lots of fun and I wanted to share some of the projects from that day. It was a small group, maybe something to do with the fact that it was 42 degrees, although the aircon did a great job of keeping us cool.
I think this card is just gorgeous. I particularly love the combination of the petal pink with the champagne foil, ribbon and champagne rhinestones.

I wanted to share how I spent Christmas here in Australia.
We spent Christmas with our 2 adult children at the south coast of NSW. It is a spot I have been visiting since before I could walk and where I have spent most of my Christmases. It is also where my parents lived before they died.
As you probably know, fires affected a large part of this area and while we were there we were inconvenienced in several ways, particularly by being separated when the highway was closed. But we were not directly impacted by the fires and we left before new year. Unfortunately, the smoke from the fires followed us but we are thankful to be safe and still have our home.
I wanted to share this photo because I thought it might appeal, particularly to those in the northern hemisphere. This was a traditional way the fire service raised funds for many years but as far as I know it had not been done for quite a while. On this trip, the fire truck was welcomed by everyone and it was an emotional opportunity to thank the brave fire fighters for keeping us safe. Santa had a good supply of lollies (candy) which he threw at the kids. So everyone lined the streets to say thanks and donate; I think it is so uniquely Australian!
Also Santa must have been quite hot in his suit in the very hot conditions.
I hope you appreciate this non-crafting post.
Bye for now……………………………………………………………………………………..til next time,
I had a birthday a couple of days ago and I wanted to share some of the hand made love I received. These are the birthday cards I received. Aren’t they lovely?
My lovely daughter also made me a magnificent Black Forrest Cake.
And my special birthday plant put on a show just for me as it does every year on my birthday. It’s called an Orchid Cactus or Epiphyllum hybrid. I was given a cutting over 30 years ago and I still love it.
I really had a lovely birthday. I got some good pressies, lots of phone calls, texts, facebook messages, flowers and dinner with my family. What more could I want? Feeling very blessed!
That’s it for me, hope you enjoyed my birthday share………..till next time,
I recently decided to try something that other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators around the globe have been doing for some time.
It’s called Coffee and A Card. In a nutshell, it is an opportunity for people who have never stamped before to try it out in a social setting. So, they will make one very simple card, have a coffee and, perhaps, meet up with some new people in their community. Perfect for people who are interested but time poor, or who don’t want to commit themselves in advance and another advantage is that there is no need to purchase any thing or have prior experience.
I have a lovely cafe near where I live and I approached the proprietor about the idea and she agreed to give it a try. The aim is to run these sessions regularly and keep them very simple.
Here is the flyer I created
If you’re interested, give me a bell, flick me an email, or just turn up!
Thanks for stopping by ………………………………………………………………til next time,
This post will be fairly long as I want to share a fair bit of information about changes to products and other things happening at the moment.

That’s it from me today. Hope you have enjoyed your ANZAC Day.
Hi Stampers, Hope you are enjoying the lovely Autumn weather which is perfect for a Sunday. One great thing about living in Canberra is that, unlike most of Australia, we actually have 4 distinct seasons. Today is a lovely warm, still day but there is plenty of colour in the trees. I have a gorgeous Golden Ash tree in all its yellow glory in my sight as I write this.
Today, I would like to share a card that came together a bit by accident. I was looking at my gorgeous Petal Pink /Whisper White Variegated Ribbon and wondering what I should make with it, so the colour was a given. I also wanted to have a go at inking up my Country Floral Dynamic Embossing Folder. I smooched the inside of the top of the folder (the side with Stampin’ Up! on it, the inside surface of which is recessed) with the Petal Pink inkpad. Then I placed a sheet of Whisper White card inside and ran it through the big shot.
I cleaned the folder under a cold tap and dried it while waiting for the result to dry, then I used a sponge dauber to go over the white raised elements with Frost White Shimmer Paint. It looks so shimmery in life! I even swiped the vellum diecut with the greeting embossed on it.
To add to the shimmer and shine, I matted the art panel onto glossy white, then a Petal Pink card, added the gorgeous ribbon and white embossed the greeting (from the Botanical Bliss Stamp Set) onto vellum and diecut that using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. Finally, I added half a sprig punched from glossy white and a couple of pearls. This is such a pretty card, with all the shimmer and shine. Hope you like it too.
The Country Floral Dynamic Embossing Folder was available as a free gift during 2019 SaleABration but will be available in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue.
The Frost White Shimmer Paint and the Sprig Punch carried over from the 2018-19 Holiday catalogue and are still available. All products used are available in my online store, except the Embossing Folder. To go there, click on ‘Shopping’ at the top of this page, then select ‘MY ONLINE STAMPIN’ UP! SHOP”. You can then create your own account with me. If you’re not sure about how to do this, I would be very happy to assist you. Just contact me.
