Thanks for joining me this afternoon. I wanted to share the cards I presented at the Global Fair Share yesterday.
The Share Fair evolved from a facebook group I belong to for SU Demonstrators who do not have an upline to help us. I joined this group about a year ago and did my first ever blog hop with them. The concept of the Fair was only conceived in the last few weeks and when asked to participate, I was terrified.
However, I decided to take it on and immediately asked to demonstrate using the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper. Choosing products from the Peaceful Poppies suite was an easy choice because it is gorgeous, but also because the Fair was being held on ANZAC Day. The Fair is a way of Demonstrators around the globe joining together to give something back to their customers and it was a great success. I invited my customers, and those who attended had a ball creating along with all the demos, or just watching.
I was really proud of myself for mastering the technology to do the presentation ( I had never done a Facebook Live before). Things didn’t run perfectly but I was pretty happy with the outcome. I had lots of help from a number of people but mostly from Tracy Held (aka traceofcreativity) who was Australian administrator for the Fair, as well as her very patient husband, and Shirley Merker in the US who is the driving force behind the group. I had lots of support and lots of fun.
I hope you like these cards and if this sounds like something you would like to get involved in, let me know as there will be another one next month.
I must admit I’m a little tired today as I watched some of the presentations in the UK, US and Canada.
Thanks for stopping by………………………………………………………………………………………………til next time
Welcome back. Well the organisation for the Live Event on 25 April is progressing and I am getting excited, and a bit nervous about presenting.
I believe the list of presenters has been finalised:
Any of my customers who attend the Share Fair and place an order with me before 3 May will be eligible to earn the Share Fair Show Special:
So if you’d like to participate, contact me now for an invite (You must have a facebook account AND not be a SU Demonstrator or a customer of another Demonstrator). That will give you time to join the group and gather supplies beforehand so that you can craft along with the presenters throughout the day.
I’d love you to join me and craft along.
I chose the Peaceful Poppies Suite because the event is being held on ANZAC Day. For those who don’t know, the 25th of April 1915, was when Australian and New Zealand soldiers formed part of the allied expedition that set out to capture the Gallipoli peninsula. These became known as Anzacs and the pride they took in that name continues to this day. The symbol of the ANZACS is the Flanders Field Poppy. Australia normally celebrates Anzac day with a march, Poppies, sprigs of rosemary, games of two-up and baking and eating ANZAC biscuits (cookies) which were baked and shipped to our soldiers deployed overseas.
Bye for Now………………………………………………………………………………..Netty xx
Along with other SU demonstrators, I have been thinking of ways to foster connections through paper crafting. In these times of social distancing. I believe these connections help to nurture us physically, psychologically and spiritually.
I would like to invite you join me for a Virtual Global SU Share Fair. I have teamed with fellow demonstrators around the globe to bring Facebook Live video demonstrations into your stamp space over next weekend, April 25th. We start in Australia, head to the United Kingdom, visit USA and end in Canada.
Demonstrators will share projects you can reproduce using products you can gather from your stamp space prior to the event so you can create along with us. If you don’t have the exact supplies, gather similar items you do have. Most of the projects are going to use DSP, so you will get tons of inspiration, (and hopefully the courage) to start using the pile that you have stashed away!
The Facebook Global SU Share Fair is for customers only and by invitation. So please contact me by email, pm or comment here to receive your invitation. You will need to accept the invitation to join the group. You must have a Facebook account to join the group.
My name is Annette McMillan. I love to make cards and other papercraft projects and this is my place to share my creations and other information. I have been a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in Canberra, Australia for over 10 years and papercrafting for 18 years or so. I run card making classes for all skill levels and can offer in-home demonstrations for you and your friends. I also sell cards which can be stock or on commission.
