I don’t particularly celebrate Valentine’s Day, so I struggled to come up with an idea for this hop. I decided on the colours first. I’m a big fan of red, black and white or vanilla, so that made it easy, and fitted with a Valentine theme. I just needed hearts and appropriate greetings and images. I decided on the Labeled With Love Bundle, then added the die cut hearts using the Wanted to Say Dies and the inside greeting from the Layers Of Beauty stamp set. I was happy with the outcome. Would love to know what you think.

Although the Layering Leaves Stamp Set and the Bough Punch have been around a while, I only recently purchased them and I wanted to use them, as well as the new Leaf Collection Background stamp. I found a technique for using the Leaf Collection stamp on Heather Forgen’s website here and I just had to give it a try. I used Blending Brushes to apply colour to the a Very Vanilla card front, then spritzed the stamp with water and used it to stamp on the card front over the colours. The colours bleed as the ink dries and creates what I think is a lovely effect. For my strips, I cut the three strips of Very Vanilla and adhered them to the Pecan Pie cardbase. I cut the nesting pieces of card from Pecan Pie and Very Vanilla and stamped and heat embossed the greeting.
The boughs were also heat embossed in gold and overstamped with colour then punched out.
Here is a close shot:
And here are shots of the whole of the front and the inside:

I chose to use the Inspirational Sketches Stamp Set. I was inspired by pics on page 110 of the 2024-2025 Annual Catalogue to use metallics to create a masculine feel and I thought the bird image fit the bill too! It was a little hard to pick up the shine on the card, so I took the 2 bottom pics. I love the way his eye turned out with the Enamel Effects. What do you think?
