Wedding Sunshine

My niece was  married on her family property in November.  The theme for the wedding was sunflowers – her favourite flowers!  They match her sunny disposition and I was thrilled with her news.  I knew I had to make them a special wedding card. Here is the result:

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to attend the wedding and I didn’t want to risk sending the card in the post, so I had to wait until they came to pay us a visit the week before Christmas to give them the card.  I think they liked it!!  The bridesmaids wore navy dresses and the groomsmen had sunflowers in their buttonholes and her Dad managed to find a tie for the day with large sunflowers.

Below is a picture of the card open.  It is a real WOW card and got the desired reactions.

I used the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set, which I think is easily overlooked in the catalogue.  The colours I used are Night of Navy and Crushed Curry, along with Whisper White and a Silver Glimmer paper.  The card was inspired by Angela Lorenz at angscraftycards.blogspot.com.au and Jacinta Argent at jacintascreations.blogspot.com.au   These two talented ladies both create beautiful exploding box cards like this one.  I hope you like the card and I hope to be back soon with some more creations to share with you.

Love Is In the Air

Above is a card I helped a friend to create for her niece’s wedding. The niece said she was interested in Moroccan decor in her new home. Which inspired the design of this unusual wedding card.  We used elements from the Eastern Palace Suite, such as the stamps and dies and tassle.  We also used The Jar of Love stamp set, Gold Glimmer paper, along with Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide and Whisper White card and ink.Wedding Card In Envelope Annette McMillan 28-09-2017

We then decided that we needed an envelope which did not hide the card, so we created one from this vellum with (appropriately) gold hearts on it, using the fabulous Envelope Punch Board, which allows you to create envelopes of lots of unusual sizes..

Finally, we decided that it needed a special closure, so we wrapped it like a gift using fine gold twine.  We were both very happy with the outcome and so was the bride.  I’d love to know what you think.
