Welcome to this month’s Paper Crafting Blog Hop featuring December Holidays. I am excited to share another project with you today. Fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the globe are participating, so we have lots of fun projects to share with you. I hope you get loads of creative inspiration from them. You may have started here, or arrived from the talented Sue Boerner’s blog. Wasn’t her project amazing? Either way, you’re in the right place!
The card I am sharing is one I created for my downline team get together this month. I wanted to show them how to use an old (but good) technique called Iris folding and make a card with this technique and Stampin’ Up! products.

Below is a close up of the Iris, showing some of the lovely gold elements in the card.

The theme made me think of a friend who has lost a loved one whose memory is associated with pelicans. So, using the pelican from the Waves of the Ocean Stamp Set was an easy decision to make. The card evolved from there.

It was not hard to pick the supplies I would choose to create my card. I adore the Hand Penned DSP. It has a lovely soft watercoloured, almost whimsical look to it, soft pastel colours and flowers which are delicate, small in size. i will be so sad when it has retired with the current Annual Catalogue, as will the Dies and Embossing Folder I used.
SUPPLIES:
Stamps: – Color and Contours, Peaceful Moments
Inks: – Memento Black, Misty Moonlight, Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaroon
Card: – Basic White, Misty Moonlight, Hand Penned DSP
Tools: – Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Flowers and Leaves Punch, Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder
Embellishments: – Stampin Dimensionals, Fine Tip Glue
