More Team Meeting Sketch Challenge and Fun Fold

Following on from my most recent post, I’m back to share other creations from our team meeting. The card below was Anne’s take on the sketch challenge.

I just love the Back On Your Feet stamp set. Anne’s card is so cute and suitable for anyone, from a child to an elderly person, male or female. Anne has chosen to use blocks of colour and banners make the vertical lines. The addition of texture to the banners, the decorative corner punched with the Detailed Trio punch and the rich copper foil also add interest. Anne has also done a beautiful job of colouring the turtle.

Here is my card. I used the Artistry Blooms DSP for the vertical elements. The paper has many different colours and ombre effects. The piece I used has Coastal Cabana and Gorgeous Grape in it, which determined the colour scheme. I added texture with the Subtle and the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folders. The focal point is a circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies with two punched white medium daisies which I have sponged with Coastal Cabana and Gorgeous Grape. I punched a 1/2″ circle from Night of Navy and stamped the greeting in the same colour, using my favourite greeting at the moment, from Peaceful Moments stamp set.

This is a closed view of the Fun Fold Card we also made at our team meeting. This is my card. With all that sponging , I have a smudge that will need to be concealed. I used the Friend Like You and the Sending You Thoughts Stamp Sets (Latter is retired) and the Layering Squares Dies. Colours were Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Poppy Parade.

The above pic shows the card open. I created the card using a tutorial by Gloria Plunkett, at DesignzbyGloria.com

Here is a link to the printable tutorial on her blog. She also has a link to a youtube tutorial.

Team Meeting Sketch Challenge and Fun Fold

I wanted to share some of the wonderful ideas that came out of my team meeting last week. Below is a sketch I pinched from Julie Davison. Each member of the team produced a swap card based on this sketch.

Card Layout_AnnetteMcMillan_17072020

The first Card is from Karen.

She has brought together elements from a number of different sets/suits.

Firstly, I was gobsmacked by how she had used the Pick A Punch to create the vertical strips, and added texture with the Woodlands Embossing Folder.

She has also used the Subtle Embossing Folder, for the Daffodil Delight panel, which combines so well with the Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper.

The label is from the Painted labels Dies. The flowers are from the Basket of Blooms Stamp Set, the greeting is from the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set and the stems were cut with the Banner Blooms Dies.

The card is finished off with a few rhinestones and mounted on a White card base, with White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and the flowers are white embossed on vellum. Hasn’t she done a great job, showing the amazing coordination of Stampin’ Up Products?

The next swap card was designed by Vicki. She chose a stunning colour combination derived from the beautiful retired Designer Series Paper; Blackberry Bliss and Petal pink.

I love how she has used the Petal Pink Striped Organdie Ribbon to represent the vertical elements.  The greeting is from the Woven Heirlooms Stamp Set, which is stamped in Blackberry Bliss on a Petal Pink Circle.

This simple but elegant card was finished off with a single pearl. Beautiful, Vicki.

That’s all I have time to share today but I’ll be back soon with more, including the fun fold.

Beautiful Moments Card

BeautifulMomentsCardStampinUpAnnetteMcMillan12052020

My team of demonstrators (Netty’s Inkers) had a virtual meeting last month to share some quality crafting time via Zoom. I had chosen a sketch challenge for everyone to use from Create with Connie and Mary. The card shown was what I came up with and I was quite pleased with it. In fact everyone created great cards using the sketch. Card sketches are a great way to develop your creativity because they give you a place to start, and you can then bring in the supplies that you have on hand. I selected the colour scheme based on the paper, so easy!
