Goodbye Waterfront, Goodbye Woodland, goodbye Stitched Shapes Dies and Layering Ovals Dies.

My hubbie asked me to make a card for one of his friends who was turning 65 last week. He is very fond of bush walking, so I decided to use the Waterfront stamp set, the Woodlands Embossing Folder, the Stitched Shapes Dies and the Layering Ovals Dies, all of which will retire with the 2020-21 Annual Catalogue on 3 May. I also used the retired stamp set Number of Years and the Coordinating Dies, which retired a few years ago, but I find perfect for special birthdays.

Colours I used were Shaded Spruce, Early Espresso, Misty Moonlight, Bumble Bee and Very Vanilla. I added Wink of Stella liberally but it is hard to see in the top photo, you can see it better in this photo, so pretty.

I was really happy with how this card turned out, I hope it inspires you. I am a bit sad to say goodbye to these products as they are some of my favourites, but I am looking forward to all the new goodies that will appear in the new catalogue.

Thanks for stopping by, til next time,

Nearly Time for On Stage Local

I’m getting excited now.  On Stage is on in Sydney tomorrow at Luna Park.  My bag is packed and I’m ready to go!  An early start at 7.30!  I thought I would share my other swaps with you. Both use stamp sets which are in the current Occasions Catalogue, so are available until the end of May.

I thought this card was a little different than most I have seen using this lovely set.  I quite like the bolder colours which, I think, give the card an Asian feel, and makes it appropriate for many occasions, such as Anniversary, Mother’s Day or Thank You.  This is quite a simple card to make and would be a good make n take for a workshop.  I used Real Red, Whisper White and Basic Black as well as as Black and White Baker’s Twine. I hope you like it.  If you have any comments or questions, I’d love to hear from you.

HappyRetirementCardStampinUpAnnetteMcMillan13032018My final swap card is using a stamp set called Waterfront.  The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Sentiment set in the Annual Catalogue.  I have also used the Seaside Textured Embossing Folder and the Stitched Shapes Framelits .  Colours are Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Whisper White Dapper Denim and Lemon Lime Twist.

The waterfront set is amazing.  It is like building a scene using the stamps in different ways.  You will find lots of different cards out in cyberspace using this versatile set.  I thought the scene perfectly represented the free days of retirement. It could also be used as a Bon Voyage card.

Again, this is a simple card and I hope you like it.
